A Walk in Japan

Whether its rural routes or urban commutes, Japan is a country for walking.

A while back, a friend published an English translation of “A Walk in Japan“ — Bernhard Kellermann’s travelogue through Meiji era Japan. I was invited to contribute a selection of photos to accompany a preview of the book in Kyoto Journal Issue 79.

It turned out to be a great way to reconsider the photos I capture while walking, working and wandering around Japan. This gallery is a changing collection of these everyday images.
